Maps edited with experimental versions can not be used or edited in stable

I tried experimental and did a small bug fix on a Map. Noone useing the stable version can use the Map now and I can't edit it in stable either anymore.

Any reason for the version dependence in the map editor or can we get a warning or downgrade?
