Coke used as blast furnace fuel is mainly produced from bituminous coal worldwide. There is coke from petroleum (usually called petcoke) where one of the main usages is material for anodes in smelters (so speaking in-game, petcoke should be used for what graphite is now). This is fully intentional. Look up how the real-world oxygen furnace works. Scrap (or something else like DRI iron) is needed to keep the exothermic reaction from melting the oxygen furnace.

If you need more scrap, use the shredder to make some (or research DRI iron for example).

Thanks for the report, apparently I missed a change in one of the COI updates. Fixed in version 0.2.1, tested on COI 0.8.5.
